Trailing Brew was founded by Samuel Gebre, a trailing spouse who like most of us knows the dance of relocation and the quiet strength it takes to rebuild a life and a home over and over again. This coffee brand is partly birthed from that experience. We offer premium coffee for families on the move. Wherever you're posted, your coffee can feel like home. 

As a Habesha (Ethiopia), I grew up with coffee as part of every day life and the coffee ceremony is a tradition in community building and sustaining. My relationship with coffee began long before I drank it — in the storytelling, the roasting over charcoal, the shared cups passed around the room. That early reverence stayed with me as I moved through the world, carrying home with me in every sip.

As a journalist, I’ve followed coffee from its roots to its global impact — reporting on smallholder farmers in the Kenyan highlands, cupping sessions in Nairobi, and specialty coffee championships where craft meets passion. I’ve covered coffee futures markets in London and New York, where beans are traded like gold. 

But behind the numbers and headlines, I’ve always seen coffee for what it truly is: a story of people, movement, and identity. Trailing Brew is the continuation of that story — personal, grounded, and global.
